Pinwheels for Peace 2008

We made this pinwheel on our football field on Monday Sep. 22, 2008 for the Pinwheels for Peace on the International Day of Peace(which was actually on Sunday, Sep. 21). All the AHS art students made a pinwheel and flew them proudly that morning!! Congratulations AHS students!!

Homecoming Parade 2008

So far this year...

I've posted to Myspace and now to this - the blog is for our whole class, so keep checking it - it links from MS also.
School is off to a great start! Thanks to all of you who are working hard and taking care of business - it's only 5 months to VASE - Visual Art Scholastic Event in Feb 09.
We have Homecoming done, next is Pinwheels for Peace on Sep 22, then the Open House on Monday Sep 29, the the NAHS Fish Fry in October, and the Halloween Carnival on the last Sat. in Oct. WOW!! Lots going on!!Check out Myspace for extra pictures from the float, it's easier to upload them there!

We've finished project 1, and now we're ready for the pinwheels, and they will 'fly' tomorrow on the football field. Hope everyone is there and ready for a great picture, and a profound statement to the world!

(THANK GOODNESS I don't have to do the HTML for the blog, I am not very good at that and have to keep referring back to my 'cheat' sheets - I don't do use it often enough to remember from one time to the next!) Help in Art Room????

Next week I'm going to start cleaning out the artroom. I'll be there on Monday from 10 - 4, there is sssoooo much junk that needs to be chunked out. I really don't think I will be moving to the other building this summer, but I still would like to get things sorted and labeled, etc. First thing is to throw out TONS of National Geographics - any takers?? The ones in the cabinet are ALL going 'bye-bye' so come by if you want some! Also almost all of the still life stuff that is in the back cabinet is going too, not the animals and skulls, but all the old bottles and weird stuff(OLD).
I also need to clean off the tops of the tall cabinets, and all the counters. I do have some art supplies to give away to kids who put in 5 hours(this qualifies as a BRIBE - just so we are clear!!!)

NAHS and NHS kids, this can be used as community service hours for next year.

I'll be working in the room one day per week for the rest of the summer, usually on Mondays, but I'll post any day changes in this blog -K?
